Characteristics, Functions, and Effects of Green Fiberglass Acoustic Ceilings

Acoustic fiberglass ceiling panels offer a range of benefits, including sound absorption.

Acoustic panels are an ideal sound-absorbing decorative material. They offer numerous advantages, including sound absorption, environmental friendliness, fire resistance, thermal insulation, moisture resistance, mold prevention, easy dust removal, ease of cutting, pattern customization, simple installation, excellent stability, high impact resistance, good independence, and high cost-effectiveness. They are available in a wide range of colors to meet diverse aesthetic and functional requirements for sound-absorbing decoration.

By manufacturing material

①Wooden

Wooden acoustic panels are meticulously crafted based on acoustic principles, consisting of a decorative surface, core material, and acoustic felt. Wooden acoustic panels are divided into two types: slotted wooden acoustic panels and perforated wooden acoustic panels.

②Mineral wool

Mineral wool acoustic panels offer diverse surface treatment options and have strong decorative effects. Rolled mineral wool panels, commonly known as “caterpillar panels,” feature surfaces covered with holes of varying depths, shapes, and diameters.

③ Fabric

Fabric acoustic panels use centrifugal glass wool as their core material. Centrifugal glass wool, a widely used acoustic material worldwide, has proven to have excellent sound absorption performance.

Fire Resistance

Fire resistance is critical for sound-absorbing materials in public gathering places such as theaters, nightclubs, auditoriums, multi-purpose halls, and sports arenas. Polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels have been tested by the National Fire Protection Testing Center for fire resistance parameters, and the results indicate that they have good fire resistance, meeting the national standard GB8624 B1 grade requirements.

Product applications include: meeting rooms, studios, theaters, audio-visual rooms, opera houses, leisure centers, hotels, multi-purpose halls, concert halls, bars, restaurants, shopping malls, schools, large auditoriums, sports arenas, KTV venues, and more.

By environmental protection grade

Acoustic panels are classified into grades based on the formaldehyde emission levels of the base material during installation. There are three grades: E0, E1, and E2. Among these, E0 is the environmental protection grade (also the European environmental protection standard), followed by E1, and E2 has relatively higher formaldehyde emission levels. For direct indoor installation, E1 grade is considered.

By structure

① Acoustic wedges

Acoustic wedges are special sound-absorbing structural materials designed for high-intensity sound absorption environments. They are made from porous (or fibrous) materials that are formed and cut into conical or wedge-shaped sound-absorbing bodies, which remain rigid and do not deform. Acoustic wedges are suitable for environments with strong airflow, primarily targeting high-quality soundproof rooms. They are more effective at absorbing low frequencies, eliminating standing waves, and meeting the requirement of eliminating echoes. The sound absorption coefficient at the low cutoff frequency is greater than 0.99. V-shaped and W-shaped acoustic wedges made of polyester have advantages such as smaller volume and more reasonable pricing compared to ordinary acoustic wedges.

② Diffusers

Diffuser sound-absorbing panels not only possess all the functions of flat sound-absorbing panels but also utilize their three-dimensional surfaces to transmit sound waves at different angles, eliminating blind spots during sound diffusion. This improves sound quality, balances audio, reduces heavy bass, and compensates for high frequencies by weakening them relative to low frequencies.

Product Structure:

The sound-absorbing material features a structure with three-dimensional triangular or cylindrical grooves on the front of medium-density fiberboard and circular holes on the back. The surface is spray-painted (color can be customized according to customer requirements), and the back is lined with fire-resistant sound-absorbing fabric.
